Additional comments |
DVD-Video featuring two documentaries. The first one
is called "Curves, contours and bodyhorns" and was originally broadcasted in
1993. It's a documentary celebrating 40 years of the Fender Stratocaster. It
features various Strat players over the years, including Eric Clapton, George
Harrison, Hank B. Marvin, David Gilmour, Keith Richards and many, many more.
Mark Knopfler is also featured of course, but only very briefly. Still, it's a
very interesting documentary. This was recorded from ITV in the UK onto mono VHS
tape. Picture quality is OK, but sound suffers from an annoying buzz. The second
documentary "Not fade away", is about Buddy Holly and specifically the making of
a tribute album. It's narrated by the late, Waylon Jennings. Mark Knopfler is
shown working in the studio with Waylon, recording the song Learning the game
and speaking about the project. This was recorded from CMT Europe onto HiFi
stereo VHS, most likely late 1996 or 1997. Picture quality is OK, the sound is
good. |
