Additional comments In 1983, Mark Knopfler played on and produced Bob Dylan's album Infidels. Right after the recording sessions, Mark had to leave immediately to tour with Dire Straits again for their final part of the Love over gold tour. Without Mark being involved, Dylan finished the album and left off one of the great songs they recorded: Blind Willy McTell. Mark was not happy with it as he thought this track should have been on the album. In 1991 the song was finally released on the official 3CD-set The Bootleg Series Volumes 1–3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961–1991. This promotional CD-single was released in conjunction with this 3CD release. It features both the album version and radio edit of Blind Willy McTell. The radio edit is unique to this single. Jewel case, USA edition.
