Additional comments | On 6th March 1987, a British ferry called "The Herald Of Free Enterprise" carrying 459 passengers capsized off the coast of Zeebrugge (Belgium) killing 190 people. It was the largest British sea disaster since the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. A relief fund was set up to help survivors and the victim's families by British trash rag The Sun. Overcoming many objections to the nature of The Sun's involvement, a charity single was organized to raise funds and featured The Beatles' Let it be. Paul McCartney gave permission for his voice to be used as a guide track. Mark Knopfler plays a small guitar solo on this track. |
