Additional comments

Apart from his very well known work with Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler has contributed to many albums of various artists. The series of "Session Work" is a compilation of these songs. Going home was recorded by The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, a bagpipe band from Edinburgh. The song All over again was recorded at Olympic Studios on 14th April 2005 and Mark Knopfler's guitar work was recorded on 2nd June 2005 and overdubbed on the recording. The East to West album was recorded at Mark Knopfler's British Grove Studios in London. Paul Burch: "Lastly, came a letter from out of the blue from Mark Knopfler. Through a mutual friend, I had asked about a microphone recommendation, assuming we shared a lot of influences. Mark suddenly became my pen pal, complimenting me about my work, my writing, my voice. (I didn't now he was a fan!) Before long--with only meeting me once--he encouraged me to come to London and put all my concentration into getting a new record started at his studio. He even interrupted his vacation time (during my sessions) to drive hours back into London to cheer us on and join us for Before the Bells."  About the track Not one bad thought, Tony Joe says he and Mark first worked on the song when he "built a big fire outside. We had steaks and cold beer, and we took the guitars out by the fire. The Bablake Sessions CD is a fundraiser for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Jon Allen donated an exclusive version of his track Sarah which features Mark Knopfler on guitar.

Note: since this are all official recordings, I do NOT copy or trade this material. It's just meant for people who are looking for songs with Mark Knopfler and want to check on which albums these songs can be found.
