Additional comments:
Nice home-made Video-CD of a TV show that Mark Knopfler did to promote his new
album The Ragpicker's Dream. Mark was one of the musical guests of the Dutch
Staatsloterijshow (national lottery). Only two songs, sung live with playback
music. Mark was accompanied by Bobby Valentino, Robbie McIntosh, Danny Cummings,
Marcus Cliffe and Geraint Watkins. The show was broadcasted live on Dutch
television station RTL4. There is a pretty annoying echo on his voice during
Hill Farmer's Blues, I guess some technician was sleeping... Anyway, a short but
good appearance of Mark. During the commercial break before Mark's performance,
there was a commercial for The Ragpicker's Dream, which can be found in the
first track. Later in the same show, hosted by Marc Klein Essink, there was a
performance of Lionel Richie. It has been added to the VCD as a bonus track in
case anyone is interested. You can also see the "genuine" Sinterklaas (not the
same as Santa Claus), who's anniversary is celebrated in Holland every year on
the night of 5th December. Total length of this CD is about 15 minutes.
Available on one CD-R.
Video-CD's can be played on DVD players or normal CD-ROM players using Windows Media Player. I can play this Video-CD on my external Sony DVD player (DVP-NS705V) without any problem. Note however that some DVD players have problems with Video-CD's. So I can only guarantee that they work on your PC CD-ROM drive!
