Additional comments DVD-Video featuring the two broadcasts of Saturday Night Live with Mark Knopfler. One performance was with The Notting Hillbillies in 1990 with a stunning outro solo on Railroad worksong. The other appearance was with Randy Newman in 1988 where Randy played two tracks from his album Land of dreams. Mark plays lead guitar in the band and in between does some great finger picking (Dallas rag) with G.E. Smith, long-time "Saturday Night Live" band leader and veteran Dylan guitarist. He uses a red Pensa Suhr guitar during this show. As a bonus, two extra tracks are added: one interview with Mark Knopfler from 1990 and the live performance of Expresso love at the David Letterman show in 1985. Nice to see that Mark is also promoting the Live Aid book afterwards. Picture quality is not perfect, but certainly very nice to watch.
