The Boswell “0-14MK/TR-Limited Edition” is a
rare, collaborative release from Butch Boswell of Boswell Guitars, Mark
Knopfler, and Rudy Pensa of Rudy’s Music, NYC. The picture on the left came with the text: "The first two MK models ready for delivery. These two went to a couple of very high profile players. Mark Knopfler and someone he used to tour with quite a bit in the late 1980’s." Click for details here, here and here. See here for the unique plate that each guitar case got.The number on the plate says that 24 were made, while the certificate of authenticity says 25. Mark probably got serial number MK-0, but that is not confirmed. The top of the guitar is made out of Tunnel Redwood, a wood that line the train tunnels in the Siskiyou Mountains in Oregon. It was the inspiration for the song Tunnel 13 from Mark's album One deep river. |
