This is in fact not Mark's guitar. It belongs to
Guy Fletcher. Guy took this picture during the Kill to get crimson
tour in Lisbon, 4th April 2008. Mark warms up Guy's Draleon archtop guitar
prior to the meet and greet of that evening. |

with pride in China, of a sunburst finish. See here a picture of the
headstock. Acquired in 2007, Mark Knopfler told that the Draleon was occasionally used for backstage fan meets and greets and also as a guitar placed in hotel rooms when he was on tour. According to Guy Fletcher, who owns a similar Draelon in a blonde finish, the guitars were made by luthier Gordon Roberts for Draleon. On the left picture, Mark used this guitar during the meet and greet before Mark Knopfler's gig in Barcelona, Spain, 2nd April 2008. This guitar was auctioned at Christie's in London on 31st January 2024. It was sold for 17.640 Pounds. |
