To promote his fifth solo album Kill to get crimson, Mark Knopfler played five exclusive showcases which featured mainly songs from his solo repertoire including a couple of songs from the new album which was released on 17th September 2007. Instead of flying in the USA band members for just a few shows, the band was a bit adjusted with Luke Brighty on guitar and Dudley Phillips on bass. Most of these concerts were recorded and broadcasted on radio and TV. The show in Madrid was the only one that was not officially recorded since this was kind of a private show. Mark was asked if he could perform an 'intimate' concert at the opening of a new club, the Chivas studio, sponsored by the whisky brand Chivas Regal. Unfortunately with very few tickets available to fans and the rest of the 150 entrants being mainly sponsors and guests. |
